When the light goes low and the glow shifts from the sky to your window
I hung a show recently and some of my favorite things ended up back in a box. They’re sitting at my studio now, just all sad and lonely.
In the past, an artist might be sad about this, cry about it maybe, whine a bit, maybe take it constructively and contemplate what didn’t work about those pieces and make better ones (I’m gonna do that—I swear—I just like these ones so much!).
Well, it’s 2013. There is this thing called the internet which does so well to cater to capitalism. And in the spirit of this oh-so-glorious system I come to you today tonight the next morning after I started doing this to offer you the opportunity to buy these pieces!
That’s right, any one of these lovely creations could be yours! Signed, framed, and ready to hang in that one last empty spot you’ve been hoping to fill or to start filling that blank wall in that new apartment you just filled with boxes.
Either way, I’m here to help. Look, I even made a cute little store for you to purchase them from. Isn’t that cool? Damn freedom, you’re the best.
Ps. If you’re local to the Bay Area, please check out the ones the lovely pieces that did make it onto the walls of Local 123 (har har, see what I did there?) along side my two buddies. More info here. Those are totally for sale as well!
Pps. Reblog! Repost! Share this action!
For some reason I did this three years ago and stumbled upon the image today while digging through my computer. I can hardly remember what was going on in my life then.
That milk like substance is a bunch of different glues mixed with water. I made both of the balls (I used to have two, now I can only find one in my room sometimes when my cat isn’t hiding it somewhere) while waiting on people at Whole Foods as a cashier.
